I found this elsewhere but am no less amazed each time I watch it. By my count, not including re-passes, this guy moves up 12 positions in 2 minutes. Amazing. (But there will be a little bodywork needed before the next race).
Enjoy...

OK... that guy is ready for NASCAR with all the bumping and drafting. :)

Kinda makes you wonder what he did to have to start so far back in the field. It seems pretty unlikely he qualified there.

Scott, I think the video is from the Lotus Trophy in Australia, two races per weekend and the second race has a reverse grid start.

Wow is right -- especially when you take into account that that was a single-mark race.

Reverse-grid start...hm...that would explain a lot. Still, it's impressive as hell to watch.

That's My Panorama at Bathurst NSW, Australia. This a normal 60kmh road when not being used for racing and having driven around there myself I have a renewed appreciation for those that do this at top speed.

That should be MT Panorama

I found out a little more about this video, including the driver's claim he didn't actually hit the yellow car (but, if not, he sure didn't miss it by much)...
My reverse-grid 16th-to-1st in less than one lap charge at the Lotus Trophy support race at the 2005 Bathurst 1000, Australia. The track was greasy from rain and not a single panel was bent!
Note off the line I am squeezed into the wall, my right mirror was folded back so I had a big right-side blind spot. All the cars are the same 89kW (119hp) Elises - and as the climb after turn one shows, mine is even a little lacking in power - though there is one dark green Exige (with wing) with 141kW (189hp).
And no, I don't hit the yellow car (thanks to Azim seeing me!). This is from the 2005 Lotus Trophy series, I won this class B race by 14 seconds. I have been racing since 1995 and won the 2001 Mirage one-make championship, have driven on the Nurburgring and am a Sydney-based motoring journalist. Questions can be directed through the seriousbiz.com.au website.
The fact it was a slippery track explains some of the performance difference between him and the other cars...some people are just a whole lot faster than others on slippery sufaces.
Still....

That was awesome! And I commented on the first entry before I saw this one. I love those cars!! I liked it at the end when he was out by himself, very educational as far as driving the line, at least for me to watch. As far as the slippery conditions, the best I ever did trophying at autox was in slippery conditions. I don't think it was me going any faster than usual, rather it was everyone else who had to slow down because of the road conditions, so they were more at my slower beginner's pace.
